Grace Leonard Art

Grace Iva Leonard (nee Collins)
1890 - 1991

Art of a Lifetime

When Grace was 15, living in Paso Robles, California, a neighbor started teaching her to paint. Her long life that followed was filled with art of many types. She did oil painting, ceramic statues, cloth pictures which were her own unique creation, pictures created from bits of shell, rock, twigs, etc, a yard and patio filled with sculpture, painting, fairy tail castles and desert landscapes.

Everything was shaped by her hands: dining room window shutters with oil paintings, rock walls around her home, rock pillars that held up the the ivy and wisteria “roof” of her huge patio. To know her was to know her art.

This gallery is dedicated to honoring her creativity. In oil painting and cloth pictures alone, she created over 400 works of art. I have found photos of many of these works and put them on this site for all to enjoy.

Many of the photos are of poor quality, but I have decided to ignore the photograph quality so I can share the extent of her art. I have assigned them titles as a file name so anyone can send me comments, replacement photos, etc.

PLEASE, SEND ME PHOTOGRAPHS OF ANY AND ALL OF HER WORKS OF ART YOU HAVE. ENJOY!

Birthday Party & Art Show

For her 99th birthday we gave Grace a Birthday Party/One Woman Art Show. We invited anyone who had pieces of her art to attend and bring their Grace Leonard Art. We had over 300 pieces at the show.

Read the newspaper article about Grace’s party.
