New BaldacciPosted by Joan Francis in The First Family , The Collectors , The Camel Club , Stone Cold , Oliver Stone , Divine Justice , David Baldacci |
Happy Day, my local bookstore just called to tell me they have the new David Baldacci book, First Family. Good reading tonight! I first discovered Baldacci when I read a review of The Camel Club. I knew I had to read that book when I learned that the protagonist, a homeless man who calls himself Oliver Stone, had pitched a tent in front of the White House and demanded the "truth." And I haven't been disappointed in any of the four books in the series: The Camel Club, The Collectors, Stone Cold, and Divine Justice. Baldacci's wonderful mix of thriller, quirky characters, humor, and thought provoking commentary on our world delivers an enjoyable and satisfying read. In his new book, First Family, I suspect I will have to shift gears as it sounds like Baldacci leaves his world of quirky characters and dives back into serious thriller. Have you read it? What do you think?
